SW/TCH E-Mobility to offer e-ferry service and e-commuting fleet onshore in NYC in 2019
New electric transportation company SW/TCH E-Mobility has revealed that it has plans underway to offer electric-powered modes of transit in New York City in 2019, to help commuters during the temporary shutdown of the L train subway.
With the L train subway being an important line for people commuting between Manhattan and Brooklyn, the electric transportation services to be provided by SW/TCH E-Mobility during the line’s temporary closure will facilitate the affected commuters who use the route daily.
According to the plans announced by SW/TCH E-Mobility, the company will launch New York City’s first electric ferry service, together with a complete electric vehicle transportation suite, when the L train subway is temporarily shut down in 2019.
The flagship e-ferry to be launched by SW/TCH E-Mobility will connect Williamsburg with the East side of Manhattan; and will be able to accommodate 150 passengers.
Along with the e-ferry, the company will also offer a seamlessly integrated fleet of e-commuting options onshore, including mini-shuttles and electric van, for last mile drop-off from the ferry dock. In addition, the company will also provide e-bikes, e-scooters, electric mopeds, and e-skateboards for daily rental.
SW/TCH E-Mobility’s electric transportation services will be able for a monthly membership fee of $150, for a base quantity of ride credits which commuters can use on all forms of SW/TCH transportation. For additional ride credits, members will be charged on a “pay as you go” basis.
